Outlet Description:
Established in 1967 by Mr Lai Foo Weng, nicknamed Fatty, this restaurant serving traditional Chinese favourites started as a street-side stall in Albert Street before moving to a 100-seater restaurant on Guillemard Road. There was also the branch at the Singapore Badminton Hall that was able to hold 1,500 guests for dinner. Today, the restaurant is under the care of Lai’s son, Derek. Located in the heart of Chinatown, this two-storey contemporary-looking restaurant sees patronage of tourists and locals alike. Traditional favourites include deep-fried soon hock fish, honey pork ribs and Peking duck.
