Outlet Description:
Helmed by the affable Mr Lee and his family (his mother can still be seen in the kitchen most days), Teochew Restaurant Huat Kee started in 1969 selling traditional Teochew dishes from Wayang Street before moving on to Ellenborough Market, Gay World and Amoy Street. Today, the restaurant serves its light and delicate Teochew cuisine out of its new premises in RELC building that comes with several private rooms. Cold crab, steamed pomfret and suckling pig are among the favourites. Do try a tin of their abalone which is available for sale in front of the restaurant. It’s a treat.
