Now run by the third generation of the Fong family, this bakery originally began life as a dim sum outlet in the 1930s. Their famous diamond-shaped egg tarts boast paper-thin crusts, each one still pressed into its tin by hand, cradling sweet, silky custard filling. Other specialties include intricately-incised mooncakes, flaky Chinese pastries, biscuits, and rich kaya – still stirred by hand as it cooks.
